- 2 | tbsp | heavy cream | optional
- 0.5 | tsp | salt |
- 0.5 | tsp | dried thyme |

- 4 | | green onions | chopped
- 0.5 | cup | corn kernels |
- 0.5 | cup | sliced black olives |

Peel and cube the potatoes, then boil in salted water until completely tender.
Drain and mash the hot potatoes with butter, milk, and optional cream until smooth.
Season the mash with salt, thyme, and nutmeg.
Stir in grated carrot, chopped green onions, corn, and sliced olives.
Slice the hot dogs and sauté them in butter and oil with minced garlic until lightly golden.
Fold the cooked hot dogs into the potato mixture.
Spread half the mixture in a greased baking dish, add a layer of mozzarella, then top with the remaining mash.
Bake at 200°C for 25-30 minutes until golden. Optionally top with extra cheese and broil briefly, then sprinkle with parsley.
Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat individual portions in the microwave or oven until hot.
Assemble ahead and refrigerate unbaked for up to 24 hours.
For a vegetarian version simply omit the hot dogs.
