Ingredients
  

  • 1 | lb | ground beef | 80/20 preferred
  • 1 | | white onion | thinly sliced
  • 2 | | jalapeños | sliced
  • 4 | slices | American cheese |
  • 4 | strips | cooked bacon | crumbled
  • 2 | | burger buns |
  • 3 | tbsp | special sauce | or mayo-based sauce
  • 1 | | salt | to taste
  • 1 | | oil | for the griddle

Instructions
 

  • Divide ground beef into four equal balls and season with salt.
  • Thinly slice the onion and jalapeños.
  • Heat a griddle or skillet over medium-high until very hot.
  • Place beef balls on the surface and top with onions and jalapeños.
  • Smash firmly to embed the vegetables and form thin patties.
  • Cook until edges are crispy, flip, and top with cheese.
  • Add crumbled bacon, toast the buns, and spread with special sauce.
  • Stack two patties on each bun, close, and serve immediately.

Notes

Best served immediately while the patties are still crispy.
Adjust jalapeño quantity for preferred heat level.
80/20 beef gives the best crust and juiciness.
Keep the cooking surface very hot for proper smashing results.
