Ingredients

Instructions
 

  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  • Cut cold butter into flour mixture until coarse crumbs form.
  • Stir in cheddar cheese and chopped basil evenly.
  • Whisk cream and egg together, then pour over dry ingredients.
  • Mix gently until shaggy dough forms, then pat into 1-inch rectangle.
  • Cut dough into 8 equal squares using a sharp knife.
  • Place on parchment-lined sheet and chill for 10 minutes.
  • Bake at 400°F for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Store leftovers in airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
Reheat in oven at 350°F for 5 minutes to restore crispness.
Freeze unbaked biscuits for up to 3 months; bake from frozen.
